Fabulous Corfu

CORFU IN A NUTSHELL

A grande dame of the Greek islands..Corfu is part sophistication..part traditional but with something for everyone. You just have to find your perfect spot.

ABOUT CORFU

The most northerly Ionian island, Corfu is green, quite traditional and offers beaches..verdant countryside and the sophistication of Corfu town.

Situated in the center of the island’s east coast, lies the capital, Corfu Town, the largest town and harbour of all the Ionian islands, the capital of Eptanisa. Corfu town is divided, into two parts, the new city, and the old Corfu Town. Corfu Palace Hotel is located somehow, in a borderline between the new city of Corfu and the old Corfu town, providing the best views of both.
The old town of Corfu is just spectacular, magical, with tall Italian architectural monuments (arches), the “Mouragia” (sea-walls) and endless narrow alleys, called Kantounia, deeply reminiscent of the older Venetian influence, the old Corfu town has been rightfully declared a UNESCO World Heritage Monument.

With so many beautiful and varied beaches in Corfu awarded for their beauty and the cleanliness of their waters, it is almost impossible to choose the best.
Glyfada, Dasia, Ermones, Paleokastritsa, Sidari, Kavos (famous for loud parties), Kontokali, Benitses, Halikounas... The list of beaches is endless, from secluded picturesque coves to large, vibrant stretches of sand with beach bars, tavernas, shops and water sports.
A paradise for surfers and still untouched by tourism is Chalikounas beach, on the southwestern shore of Corfu. Canal d’Amour beach in Sidari, is one of the most peculiar beaches on Corfu, in Canal d’Amour, you can swim through an archway of sand into the open sea.
Issos beach is another exceptionally beautiful beach with crystal clear shallow waters. Rovinia beach, a remote pebble beach close to the village of Liapades, very popular for your Instagram feed, is only reached by a hiking path since there are no bars or restaurants around.
Vitalades beach is a relatively less popular beach but one of the most beautiful beaches of Corfu, and can offer plenty of space to everyone
Palaiokastritsa beach, the jewel of Corfu, set on several bays has beautiful hidden beaches worth exploring. An ideal choice for swimming in cool turquoise waters and among beautiful scenery, where you can enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving. Another beach worth visiting while in Palaiokastritsa is Paradise beach.

Get to know the island’s rich flora and fauna and old settlements on foot or by bicycle. Among the hidden gems are Pantokratoras, a lovely spot next to the saltwater lake of Korission in the south and the area around the northern saltwater lake of Antinioti, where you can find wonderful routes that will fill your holidays with unique moments.
